相关内容详细介绍：ಞ In this talk, I will discuss the concept of system, covering mechanical systems, chemical systems, biological systems, and so forth. Then, I will discuss the concepts that are relevant to systems, including analysis, synthesis, design, and selection, which are often seen from many specialized domains of system such as mechanical systems. After with the elaboration of these two backgrounds, I will then propose a general approach to synthesis of systems. By general, the term ‘synthesis’ is used to be the generic term for the terms ‘synthesis’, ‘design’, and ‘selection’, and ‘system’ is used to be the generic term of ‘mechanical systems’, ‘chemical systems’, and ‘biological systems’. I will then formulate a specialized approach to synthesis of mechanical systems or electric-mechanical systems and developed examples to show the effectiveness of this approach.
讲课人介绍：rofessor W.J. (Chris) Zhang
ꦗ Dr. Zhang is currently a professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Saskatchewan of Canada. He is a Chair Professor with the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering of the East China University of Science and Technology of China under Chinese National “One Thousand Talent’s or 1000 Talent’s” program of China as well. Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. from Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) in 1994 on the design theory and computer aided design of mechanism systems. He was then appointed as Assistant Professor of Manufacturing Engineering at City University of Hong Kong. In June 1998, he was appointed as Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan (Canada), and an Industrial Research Chair sponsored by Atomic Energy Canada Limited (AECL) to direct the research work at the Advanced Engineering Design Laboratory (AEDL) of the Department. Dr. Zhang was promoted to a Full Professor at the University of Saskatchewan in 2004. Dr. Zhang served as the Chair of the Division of Biomedical Engineering from 2007 to 2011. He was also an adjunct professor at University of Adelaide (Australia) during 2001 to 2006.
🐻 Dr. Zhang has expertise and background in a broad spectrum of subjects in the interdisciplinary areas among biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics and automation, information and management. In the biomedical engineering research area, he has fruitful achievements in endoscopy, colonoscopy, steerable catheters for interventional radiology, radiofrequency ablation, tissue engineering, drug delivery system and rehabilitation robotics and so on. He has published over 60 journal papers in the biomedical engineering area.
🌊 Dr. Zhang also worked with many world-wide reputed universities, hospitals and industrial partners for his research such as Harvard University, Stanford University, Colombia University, Delft University of Technology, Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility, MPB Inc. (Montreal), Intel (US), ASM Inc. (Hong Kong) and CNH (Saskatoon). Dr. Zhang has supervised over 80 graduate students (30 PhD students), among whom 6 are currently on faculty of universities in North America, and one on faculty of University of Hong Kong, and three on faculty of universities in China. He supervised or collaborated with over 33 Post-doctor fellows or visiting scholars, among whom three are on faculty of universities in North America.
ꦅ Dr. Zhang received the Year of Educator 2014 from Saskatoon Engineering Society and the University of Saskatchewan Distinguished Graduate Supervisor Award in 2012, University of Saskatchewan Annual Merit Awards from 1998 to 2010, and Outstanding Academic Service Award, IEEE IFIP in 2007.
Dr. Zhang is a 💧fellow of ASME, senior member of IEEE, senior member of SME, member of SPIE, and member of IRMA💛. He serves as an editing board members in 9 reputed international journals, including technical editor for IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics and associate editor for International Journal of Systems Science, Enterprise Information Systems. Dr. Zhang has published over 380 refereed technical publications, among which 226 papers appear in refereed journals in a broad scope of fields. Dr. Zhang currently has 7 patents. His h-index (ISI) is 38.
